Policies & Expectations

Please review the following policies. These help ensure a safe, enjoyable, and well-organized festival for everyone.

All volunteers are ambassadors of the Regina Reggae Festival and are expected to:

  • Treat everyone with respect — attendees, fellow volunteers, artists, vendors, and staff
  • No discrimination or harassment — zero tolerance for behaviour based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, ability, or any other characteristic
  • No alcohol or drugs while on shift — volunteers must be sober and alert during their assigned hours
  • Represent the festival positively — be friendly, helpful, and professional at all times
  • Report concerns immediately — if you witness unsafe behaviour or an incident, notify your team lead or security

Reliable attendance is critical to festival operations:

  • Arrive 15 minutes early for your shift to check in at the Volunteer HQ tent
  • Notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot make a scheduled shift
  • No-shows without notice may be removed from future volunteer opportunities
  • Shifts are typically 4 hours long with a 30-minute break
  • Check-in and check-out at the HQ tent is mandatory for every shift

Your safety is our top priority:

  • Mandatory orientation — all volunteers must attend a brief role-specific training session before their first shift
  • Follow all safety instructions from team leads, security staff, and emergency personnel
  • Wear your volunteer badge and t-shirt at all times while on duty
  • Stay hydrated — water stations are available at all volunteer posts
  • Know your emergency exits and assembly points (covered in orientation)
  • If you feel unwell during a shift, report to the medical tent immediately
  • Official RRF volunteer t-shirt — yours to keep
  • Free meals during your scheduled shifts (catered at the volunteer area)
  • Complimentary festival admission for the entire weekend
  • Volunteer hours certificate — great for students, job applications, and community service records
  • Secure storage for personal belongings at the Volunteer HQ tent
  • Sunscreen, water, and snacks available at all volunteer stations

The festival may capture photos and video during the event:

  • Photographers and videographers will be present throughout the festival
  • Images may be used in social media, marketing materials, and press coverage
  • By volunteering, you consent to being photographed in public areas of the festival
  • If you have concerns about being photographed, please speak with your team lead
